Which phone should I go for??

Dunno about 'much' better than the Desire, in fact these two comparisons seem to lean very slightly in the other direction, but there really is sod all in it apparently, which is great for us.

I have a Desire the Wife Galaxy S. After setting her Galaxy up I chose the desire.

Samsung Kies is the issue - It took a software upgrade to kies before we could connect the Galaxy.

My iPod has been left gathering dust since I got the Desire - the Desire has superior sound quality.

Wish I'd never bought an iPod now - sound quality is dire, and coming from an old iRiver iHP-120 (beloved by audiophiles for its sound), it just sounde dappalling. Yes, going from 20Gb to 120Gb was a bonus, but I really hate listening to music on it. Truly awful with my trusty Shure e2c canal-phones.

Desire plus Spotify app (when you're on Spotify premium) is sheer heaven. Almost any music you could possibly want, right there at your fingertips.

BTW - if you want to have some fun with the kids, look for the free Talking Tomcat app in the Android Market. They'll love it!

A blackberry is good if you intend using it with Exchange.

Only if you buy Blackberry Enterprise Server and bolt it onto the Exchange server. Most other phones are better at connecting to Exchange without any extra costs.

We use the Nokia's E series and a few iPhones which work wonderfully as corporate email clients. Android, after the recent firmware release does as well as it now supports the remote wipe and security features of Exchange.

I voted for the HTC Desire.

So it is! They now do an Express version for free which will likely suit most small/medium organisations. The paid one has all the superb security and document controls as before which are ommited from Express. Still a PIA to have to run Exchange and BES express rather than Blackberry/RIM change their policy and make the handset compatible with a broader scope of email servers.

A non mentioned issue = SIZE!

Samsung Galaxy is bloody enormous.

HTC Desire is a bit too big for my pocket tbh, shame I couldn't get the HTC Legend on O2 - that thing is lovely (if not as powerful).

iPhone is ok size wise, but screen is way too small by todays standards, even if it is very high res.

Currently waiting to see if the Nokia N8 which is now available for preorder (out in 2 weeks!) turns out to be good, or a lump of useless crap like the last bunch of hyped Nokia phones. Hoping it's good as there hasn't been a decent 'cameraphone' for YEARS.

sorry to admit still using a very basic nokia and at least 3 people we know have opted for blackberry curves and it has taken each of them at least 2 weeks to get the phones fully operational and syncronised all on differant networks as well , so must be quite a common issue
