Same as monnet, Bontrager hardcase. I only commute, no leisure cycling for me. They're great in the winter, come rain, shine and even snow. No tread to get stones stuck in that slowly work there way through to the tube.

I tried a Hardcase once. It punctured in no time flat, so I went right back to SMPs. I've used them for years on road and track and they've never punctured whatever the weather.

I was only thinking this the other day I use Panaracer Crosstown and I was digging out small stones out of the tread, so if one has a slick tyre this does happen so it should be more resistant to the fairy ??

I'm about 600 miles on a set of Schwalbe Marathon Racer tyres, no problems to report. The folding type are expensive at full list price but I got mine for £22.95 each from Parker a couple of months ago, so if you can find them at a similar sale price worth the investment I'd say. Otherwise the not folding type are a lot cheaper I think.

Oh hang on now I google a bit it doesn't look like they go down to 25mm anyway sorry. I bough the 30mm version and for some reason assumed they went narrower.

I need to replace my Conti Sports with a puncture proof set. First choice would be Schwalbe Marathon Plus but Wiggle don't have them in my size (700x25)

The alternatives are Schwalbe Marathon Kevlar Road or Continental Ultra Gator Duraskin; which would you recommend.

And while you are at it, what pump to buy that can handle 100/120psi??

Either tyre is a good choice, personally I like the GatorSkins...

Most track pumps can easily get to 100 psi, it is well worth getting one.

Also remember that you don't have to buy from Wiggle your LBS maybe offer an equally good deal, it is worth checking there first...

thanks for all the advice, I'm always learning something on Cycle Chat. I have installed my new M+ and are they hard! That might also due to having a decent pump I chose the Topeak Morph as I wanted a pump that I could carry and the Morph is really clever being both, and I found it easy to use.

It depends if you want them just for commuting or for training as well. I've got Bontrager Hardcases which I use for commuting and non training clubruns. They seem to be pretty much bomb proof. They roll well too but they are very heavy (300g, I think).
mine had about 20 small cuts on each tyres within 1 week of commuting. no puncture yet, but I would be expecting one soon.

My M+ which i have used for about 4 months had no cut at all.

I have Marathons on my commuter and in total only had one puncture in about 700 miles, but the puncture was actually through the side wall and a small pinprick hole which I find mysterious. As for fitting they are easy.

On my road bike I have Marathon plus, which I have suffered no punctures in 3000+ miles but are an absolute pig to fit, may depend on your rim. After yesterday though I have took them off, and replaced them to a more user friendly tyre. Posted more in depth the reason why elsewhere.

Now fitted on my road bike "Specialised all condition Armadillo Elite" which I have been told are the best for puncture protection, but time will tell. Easy to fit.

On my kitchen tile grip test (highly scientific, hold the wheel vertical pressing down and then start to tilt it till I loose grip, repeat rolling the tyre on dry and wet tiles), both the Specialised and the Marathon had good grip when banked over tight on a dry tile, but the Specialised had no grip at all on a wet tile and the Marathon+ only slightly better

4hrs, 2 split tubes, still haven't complete the job yet...
I guess it is the the tyre's fault... it was very difficult to took the Bontrager Race Lite Hardcase off from the Bontrager SSR.

The explodion of the tube was loud......x2!
also after fitting the M+, the tyre doesnt seems to be ture.... (not the wheel)

Think I've posted this somewhere before - get an old toothbrush and some fairy liquid solution and run around the edge of the tyre, it helps it sit evenly when inflating.

I used cable-tides, I'm not sure if the residue of fairy liquid would corrode rubber (which may cause leakage in the future)

6.5 hrs, 2 spited tubes, 2 explosions, 4 pairs of rubber gloves, 20 cable tides, 1 broken tyre lever..... I have done it!

One word of advice, do not fit M+ to Bontrager SSR yourself, at least not with 28-32mm tubes as they will go bang, even your tyres are 32mm...

Go for the 18-32.....they seems to be OK

Can someone find me a good instruction of how to adjust the front derailleur? It seems to be scrubbing on the side....
