Which Road bike is better value for money?

So at the moment i currently ride on a Boardman hybrid comp and i want to upgrade to something a little more "sporty", to be specific, a road bike with drop bars. My budget is around the £1k mark, i currently have my eyes on two bikes but i am stuck for decision so i hope you guys can help especially from experience. the first bike is the Boardman Team carbon from halfords (http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/road-bikes/boardman-road-team-carbon-bike) and the second choice is the Cube Agree GTC Pro 2014 from chain reaction cycles (http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/cube-agree-gtc-pro-road-bike-2014/rp-prod114087) the cube is slightly cheaper because of clearance but which bike is best value for money and great for a beginner like me? also if there are any other bikes out there that you guys could recomend then i'll greatly apreciate it  This is my first ever post on here so don't be too hard if iv'e got something wrong  i am looking forward to what you guys have to say

The best thing you can do is go and try a few out, see how they feel, handle, how heavy they are. If possible visit a couple of different shops as they'll likely have different brands and models. Most importantly, make sure you buy something you like the look of!

1k gets you a good bike full stop, so it's a case of aesthetic preference and which one feels best beneath your arse.

I would recommend a giant defy you really can't fault them.

There are several good bikes and makes at that price range so the one that you like the look of is the one for you. Although it doesn't make it a better bike but the colour and design of the Logo's etc you find to be good will make you feel so much more happy when you are riding it around the roads.

I'm considering a Caad 10 myself. But for Gods's sake, don't tell my Mrs!
