Which Road bike is better value for money?

On paper the cube wins hands down as the 105 groupset is superior to the Tiagra on the boardman. I like the fact that with the 105 shifters all the cables are neatly tucked away under the bar tape. Don't get that with tiagra. Having said that you may prefer the ride of the boardman to the cube. Only you can decide really

Cube better value by far but my mates Cube was terrible. I would never buy one. Problem after problem...

You can get ultegra for not much more.. Depends if you like the colour, take a look at planet x bikes too you can get some great spec'd bikes for 1k

Can I recommend the jamis quest comp 2014, if it's the right size, 480 from Evans cycles at the moment.

Cracking comfortable Road bike great value for money, and at 480 well you could spend like 350 quid on a special pair of wheels and watch the miles fly by.

Don't really like the look off it

Well I do have a boardman now and it is superb, some people don't like halfords and that's what puts most people of the boardman, I think halfords is great and they know what there on about, I was in there the other day for over a hour talking to one of the bike mechanic's and any question I had he had the answer for, also he's a proper cyclists and even cycled in Europe all over. I can easily upgrade to full 105 by putting the money I get of my current bike towards it and sell the parts I swap out so it won't be as much

I think most people would prefer function over form, not really much point in buying a 'pretty' bike if it rides like a dog (or any other household pet) and doesn't get used.

The one that rides best with you on it it best value for money. Chrome don't get you home - all the bling in the World won't compensate for a bike that doesn't fit you quite right, or which doesn't ride as well as a competitor for less money.

You can't make an optimum purchasing decision by comparing lists of specs. A starting point for your shortlist, maybe.

It's not just about how the bike looks but also the spec's used, let's say there was a really nice looking bike I like but had terrible components then I won't get it, the cannondale CAAD10 for example, it looks great to me and has a great frame and specs so put all those together and it's a great bike for me

If there was a bike that made it look like I was riding a hamster I think I would buy it just for the comedy value . I cant see it being very functional as it would be really small ( like a hamster )
Or a cat . That would also make me part with my money .
