Well yes, if you are willing to confront someone who may well be very belligerent. And yes, if veloevol so wished, he could have just left him sprawled in the road. Or overtaken him much earlier too. I see your point though -I think I would have flagged down police or reported him (though who knows, did veloevol do this anyway or had a chance to?)
Looking after him would have been taking his bike away, not letting him wobble all over a busy road. Would you say you were "looking after" a drunk driver by driving slowly behind him ?
He told me during the 20 minute walk to his street, where he explained the secrets of life's inner workings but in all honesty I struggled to undertstand him as his Brazilian accent was very thick.
