I don't have a saddlebag, but I use a backpack and a cool bag. The coolbag has a few pockets in it, so I shove a puncture repair kit in it. It fits quite a lot in it even though it doesn't look like it would, so I often put a spare innertube, pump, jacket or long sleeved cycling shirt (or even both), gloves, hat, bottled water, and a few snacks in it. I can fit much more in it than a saddlebag anyway!

Ah ha! Then you haven't seen my saddle bag. I can get my tools in the side pockets (latex gloves, tyre levers, spare tube, spare batteries, puncture repair kit, emergency gel, multi-tool & brooks saddle cover). In the main compartment I can fit in a pair of trousers, a blouse or t-shirt, underwear, deoderant, baby wipes, perfume, hairbrush, watch, my phone, purse and my lunch (sandwiches, apple, banana, yoghurt & crisps). I've even managed to wedge a small towel and some shampoo in there before now (it was bulging a bit by then mind!). If it gets too hot then I can wedge my jacket in the top too. I have got a Carradice Barley mind
