I always break the yolk and stir the egg before microwaving it. I'll never forget when my mum got one of the first microwave ovens in 1980. Not being one for reading instructions I thought it'd be quicker to boil an egg in it rather then use the oven hob. I put the whole egg in its shell in cold water in a metal sauce pan in the microwave, then put the timer on for 2 or so minutes. You can guess the rest!!
I really don't get microwaving eggs. My mum does it for scrambled eggs, yet I can cook scrambled eggs in a frying pan far quicker and nicer.
If you don't have a hob, fair enough.
I did drown them, though in olive oil spread rather than butter. Though you can't see it as I'm too lazy to 'butter' the outer bits. I just do the middle.
I've just experimented with mozzarella cheese, a tea spoon of garlic puree and a table spoonful of extra virgin olive oil in scrambled egg, on wholemeal toast.🤔
