There was also a plan for nuclear mines every x km along likely invasion routes. The real genius of the plan was that in order to stop the fuses and triggers freezing in the European winter, live chicken would be put in cages next to the mines with enough food and water for a week, the chickens' body warmth would keep the mines warm.
