Weight Weenie..

Pronunciation: wāt wē′nē

Definition: "A true weight weenie is one who can't sleep at night thinking about the next upgrade and all the possibilities for grams to be shaved-off. When the dream eventually becomes a reality, the process is again repeated."

Anyone here who has to shave off that excessive gram or two?

Why spend 100`s on a saddle a few grams lighter, have a good crap - -it`ll give better results, and cost nothing!!!

When I used to walk in the mountains, I cut three inches off the end of my tooth brush handle...and all the rest. It made sense when you are carrying a rucksac, day in, day out.

It doesn't seem to make much sense to me on short bike ride. It all feels the same whether my weight is 79 or 72 kg. The difference is a whole bike to some people, and an awful lot/little of expensive carbon.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
I could do with shaving off about 30,000 grams. Unfortunately they don't make a shaver big enough and I'll have to do it the hard way.

I always make sure to have a haircut and trim my eye lashes to half-length before a fast ride.

Never skimp on emergency rations. I hope it was a 1l bottle, not one of them teeny little 750ml jobs. You'll never see two people through a proper thirst with one of them. Hydrate or die, I say.

No, I could do with shifting about a stone in weight, if I get rid of that maybe I could start thinking about the weight of my kit, mind you just shaving my beard off would knock a couple of pounds off.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
I need all the help I can get - light saddle and a good crap - that's the way to go. OK..... I'm 63kgs, and could lose another 3, but I do find my lighter bikes easier to ride. If there is a choice I will buy the lighter item.

I agree in principle that lighter is better ... but I need to shift the extra half a stone I'm carrying around my gut before I can start to think about marginal gains !
