Expensive? £40 for a rear wheel w/ flip-flop hub and a fixed gear sprocket seems like a great deal to me.

of course it's about the rider but almost every fixie/SS I get into a SCR with spins out in the early 20s, granted the odd bloke with better legs and better gearing goes faster
