NT that made me laugh ...

I've not done the blind date thing as I met my hubby when I was at Uni. I don't know if I would do internet dating ... although getting to know someone over the internet for a bit and then meeting would seem better (to me).

I spent three years on internet dating sites in Stockholm and had a lot of fun!

I think getting to know someone for a while online is often better then, say, meeting a drunk person while you are also drunk, in a dark bar where the music is too loud to hold a conversation.
The next thing you know, you wake up with a hangover next to a person who's name you don't know and then arrange another date.
However, a lot of people think that is a safer and better way to meet someone then 'doing the wierdo internet thing'.

Some of my best dates have been with people I have met on forums rather then dating sites. We've really got to know each other first without the 'dating agenda' going on.

Hear hear!

Especially when conversation and minds are more important than dress sense or any particular look.

I agree NT... the internet is just another medium for people to communicate, and for the majority of the population that do not find it second nature to meet new people socially the internet takes all the anxiety away!

I spent most of my teens & 20's meeting fast/cheap/drunk women in bars and never met one that was worth staying with for more than a few months...

I actually spoke to Mrs Wigs on t'internet for 6 years before we ever met in person, techincally we didnt meet on a dating site but I met her while 'researching' methods of dating/finding people as my agency was commissioned to build a dating site.
