One of our volunteers was doing some washing up in the kitchenette during the week, and something annoyed her and she started to say "Why DO people....".

I cut in and asked her to imagine how many times the recycling team started a sentence with those words, which made her laugh.

So, here's your chance to start your own sentence with "Why DO people...." Get it off your chest, but keep the language decent!

Mine: Why DO people stop the minute they get through an entrance to a railway platform, blocking the way for anyone behind them. Ditto, the end of an escalator.

Why do people in the bridge club complain about being cold, fully dressed, when the room temperature is 23C yet are perfectly happy to wander about outside in summer in light loose clothing when the air temperature is around 20C?

In my experience exactly 50% of the population are genetically programmed to make that mistake as a matter of course.
