The occasional 'Beware Cycles' sign wouldn't go amiss nor would the odd painting of a bike on the ground.
Remember, this is a shared use path.
If often wondered about sticking copies of the newspaper story about the cyclist that sued the dog on a wire woman to the dog poo bins. Or buyig some keep left stencils and spraying keep left on the path. But the council would only probably prosecute me for flyposting.
I looked at my GPS data after the ride mentioned above anf found that I had been doing around 12mph along the path, slowed over a couple of hundred yards to 6mph then finally to 3mph at the point i was noticed. At this point I was unclipped and preparing to stop.
My point with the council was, for the path to be a viable route for cyclists it has to be able to be used at reasonable speed otherwise comuting or using it for utility cycling is just impractical.
Do we think that 12mph is a sensible speed on a wide, clear tarmaced, traffic free, shared use route?
