Having read the thread in question, I agree with the sentiments of the people you think are these horrible moralists, but just not the manner of all the responses. But then you didn't help with the first response you gave, now did you?

No but that was partly due to my annoyance at good guys Vs bad guys threads constantly strewn over this forum, and not wanting that thread to go the same way - too late. But I should have posted less flippently initially, and for that I am at fault.

My first two posts were meant in jest, hence the wink on the second post. I didn't see his first reply as a reason to flip and cause a scene

I may not be seeing the point here, but if you don't write the full story on a forum post, how can you expect people to "judge" what you've said on more than the words you've written?

Look, you had an idea, and it was sweet, but not really ethical or sensible. If you post on a forum, you have to expect people to tell you what they think. Just because you were caught up in your (sweet, but not sensible) idea, don't go blaming those who pointed out that it's wrong.

But since you ask, it's a stupid idea 1) because it might die and 2) because your mate might not want it. Or a combination of the two, in which case your mate very definitely won't want it.

I haven't blamed anybody for pointing out it was wrong, more the manner in which it was done. Anyway, there is another thread for this convesation - this one isn't relevant to my OP
