Did some safety training years back that involved several of us in gas masks linked to the outside air via long snorkel tubes. I got a right bollocking for not taking it seriously because I thought it'd be a wheeze[sic] to couple the snorkels up to each other outside.

On a mission to add mud flaps to my clip-on mudguards, I entered a rubber shop* recently, and kept my stay there as short as possible, because the smell was pretty strong 
. So far, it hasn't rained enough for me to really test how much better the mudguards work.
