Argh now do i go cervelo s2 or s5 is the 2011 tour de france model as the s5 is going for 2399 for ultegra groupset while the s2 is 1695 but only has 105 derailuers and shifters

And you won't need to spend £300 a year on insurance . I insure my home and all my bikes for that!

Presumably you'll want some aero wheels for TTs and racing so use the extra for those? The difference between 11 speed 105 and ultegra really isn't worth another 700!

Are you buying the bike outright or on the never never (can you get finance on a zero hours contract)? Given what you've said about your employment and domestic situation is spending so much really sensible? Unless you are on the cusp of going pro you really don't need to spend so much when just starting to ride competitively...how old are you?

Buying it outright due to work giving more hours and permanent contract

I am 22 so might be a bit late to start riding professionally and i could always upgrade components in the furture.

ive ridden 105 up to dura ace, no difference at all between performance of ultegra and 105 imo..dont fall for the bike snobs who are happy to spend 100s more for something not worth the extra

+1 I have both 11sp 105 & Ultegra I'd say there is a marginal better braking difference in the Ultegra. Shifting quality in the 11 speed 105 for me is smooth hassle free love it for the price couldn't be happier

Not being funny, but how good is your engine ? A bike makes a small difference to performance. Any road bike can be set up for TT - with TT bars.

You want all round, any good road bike will do. Your body is the big issue for TT's... not the bike.
