Why isn't there a Jersey for TTs in the Grand Tours?

It wouldn't have to be a 200k stage. Waiting for everyone else would be a gamble, depending on where the rest of the team was. What if most of the teams were 20, 25, 30 minutes back down the road? I just reckon it would liven the dull days where nothing much happens.........the GC contenders stroll through the countryside chatting on the sprint days, and the sprinters do the same in the hills.
It wouldn't work on any stage. The riders would quickly form into groups and the whole thing would gradually merge.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Well I'm glad you think it's perfect. I happen to think that a grand tour shouldn't be winnable on only 3 or 4 days out of the 3 weeks, with the rest of the days just being like a glorified club run. Evidently, your mileage varies.

You happen to think this contrary to the race organisers of virtually every race on the planet. I think, Mike, it may be your mileage varying. Besides, every GC rider needs to get through every stage, just ask Ritchie Porte today. They may not be able to win it on every stage but they can certainly lose it.

I can only conclude that you have never ridden a bike race and have little understanding of what is going on.

The parcours don't set the race. Froome won the tour last year with time gained on a flat run in, where he 4'ed up on a flat run in...

And there should be a classification for best 'riding technologically blind' rider. A rider who doesn't use power meters or HRM's ( and isn't permitted to by a new regulation, to qualify for this classification/ jersey perhaps). And give them a huge money prize, to try and discourage the use of such voodoo.
How about a jersey for the best rider on solid tyres? The jersey could have some sort of clown theme, perhaps...

But 'spress, what would be the point of such a jersey? We all know the best rider on solid tyres. He's already told us.
