Oslo city council have been considering a total ban on diesel vehicles. It wouldn't surprise me if they start doing it this winter.
I have a 2006 model diesel Passat. A very good car. It's depreciating a lot quicker now, but there you go.

Goodness me! In Norway prises start at £4000 for a 2006 Passat estate. It doesnt pay to import though.It will not go down much more than it has now, I gave £900 for an estate version a few weeks ago.
I'm sure its probably been said a few times in the 9 pages before this but they've found out that diesel particulates are immediately harmful to people's health :-(
Not being funny, but the problem of PM10 (particulates of around 10 um) has been well known for ages! My degree course mentioned it in 1995, and it wasn't exactly ground-breaking news then.

If you currently own a diesel powered car(Peugeot 208 1.4 HDI 98g/km) and are considering buying a brand new petrol powered car(Peugeot 1.2 Pure Tech 104g/km) which is more polluting over 3 years/30000miles, the production of the new car + 30000 miles or running running diesel car?
London already has for vans ( about five years ago ) From memory it cost me about 4k as i live about 1/2 a mile inside the zone ( Kempton park )
