Why should I spend more time in the English Countryside?

If you think the countryside is s***e don't bother with it but we're not all ukip supporters in the sticks, I think they're a bunch of extremist nobbers and I don't agree with hunting either and I haven't got a 4x4, the beer's alright though. Oh yeah and just because it's rural don't think there are birdies everywhere, I built a new bird table two weeks ago and so far only one sodding robin, ungrateful gits.
Whereas for many bird species, the suburban garden provides a much more varied and stable food source than an agrochemical countryside does. And having adapted to the presence of people, they're often less shy.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Maybe they just don't like what your giving them. Do you have a cat. ? If you do maybe thats the reason they avoid your bird table. And where is the bird table. ?

Oh, they'll break cover and risk predation when the food gets scarcer. I was surprised to find a couple of goldcrests feeding on the a remaining berries downstairs during the cold spring this year - they're not a bird you'll often see in Deptford, but needs must. Unless you have hawks stationed on your roof, they'll come.

They're all waiting for Batman to turn up.

@Dayvo. Good does that mean we can stop middle age men who are going through a mid life crisis from coming here on they're motorbikes. You can see them all on the petrol station forecourts looking very nice in they're leathers. Then they take they're helmets off and well..........

Maybe your living in the wrong bit. Here in the foothills of the cambrian mountains, we have red kites, sparrow hawks buzzards, barn owls, as well as yellow hammers robins, bulfinches, woodpeckers and loads of other birds, along with otters, badgers stoats, weasels and 101 other things. ! Luck of the draw I suppose, she says looking rather smug.

I bet you haven't red squirrels like wot we got.. And glow worms.
