Why you shouldn't overtake on a blind crest/corner

It all happened so fast I doubt any real decision-making took place, but respect to the rider for keeping his nerve and holding his line...I think your natural instinct in that situation would be to veer towards the 'safety' of the side of the road.
In the slo-mo replay, I think you see as soon as he clocks what is going on he nudges to the right before seeing the car's direction, after which he corrects slightly to stay in lane. He gave himself the option of veering but decided against it. Very skilful but instinctive rather than decided.
It is easy to imagine these guys are tearing it up but I don't think this was the case. He was clearly attentive to the biker behind him in (using his mirrors) and very stable on the bike throughout.
Seriously scary moment - I hope anyone in the car was ok.

No sympathy for the driver, as incidents like this have killed countless innocent motorists for decades, but I feel for the passengers that were trapped in a car with that nugget driving...
