So how many of you have had some sort of comment aimed at you in relation to either Bradley Wiggins or the Olympics?

So far I have had someone mention that I "now need the sideburns" whilst in a convo.
I have had another cyclist say "Go on Wiggo!"
And last night I had someone shout "Go team GB!" from a passing car.

TBH I am quite surprised that the people around here have the brain capacity to come up with such impressing comments. They are much better than the typical abuse we get anyway.

Nice ........ Though I look more like some under nourished heroin user than Chris Hoy.

Also got called 'Peen Arse' recently. No idea who that is ?

Only 'when are you growing sideburns' in jest from a couple of colleagues. Nothing on the road. Did when the 2008 Olympics were on - me and another guy were doing some serious SCR'ing coming out of Manchester - both of us on commutered up MTB's and doing 25mph plus average - someone shouted 'Olympics' as we flew past.

Nothing new to report on my travels, but there is an old boy who gives me an 'Allez! Allez! Allez!' if he sees me as I pass on my way through Longbenton. I stopped for a chat with him one morning and it turns out that he loves his cycling and has been to watch the TdF just about every year since he was a nipper! Top bloke.

We had a Wiggins comment on our way to the FNRttC on Friday (obvioulsy).
Makes a nice change from the usual 'Lance' that was usually bandied about.

I fooled my grandmother once. The TdF had just finished and I was over at my gran's. I walked in the room (in my lycra because I had cycled there) and she said "Have you been watching the Tour de France?" To which I replied "Actually, I have just come back from it now, I finished in the middle of the group at the end".
She then said (with her mouth wide open) "You never!". I couldnt hold it any longer and told her that I was joking. She then came hurlting towards me and smacked me around the head.
(She has the first signs of Altzimers (she doesnt know I know) so it was abit cruel)

Coming back into London yesterday, got a 'You missed the Olympics, mate!' - slightly OT but Box Hill was crawling with cyclists yesterday, great to see!

I must admit, on the last day of the Tour de France I had sideburns!!! The other half took a bit of prompting to even notice them, I assume noticing that I shaved off 2 or 3 weeks worth of beard but not the sideburns. With such a lacklustre response I didn't keep them.
