he dresses like Captain Scarlet, but it's difficult to dislike him.....

Thank you. I was racking my brains trying to think where I'd seen his costume before.

I really have no idea who you are talking about!

But this....

Miriam Margoyles ticking people off for using the word 'like' out of context (i.e. "I was, like, going to say")

I really like (note, in a 'proper' context ;) ) the usage of 'like' in contexts like (there I go again!) the above. For me, it illustrates a type of internal, or mental perhaps, reference. That is, 'like' becomes a marker indicating that you're referring or comparing one situation/notion to another. I find it illustrative of the thought process that is not normally so apparent.

But when it is used virtually every other word, much as some individuals I have come accross in the past use the F-word, it becomes over-used, out of context and pointless, and thus very annoying.

It's only annoying to those who let it be an irritation. If the user belongs to a community where the use is commonplace, it is not noticed.

I could say the same about "virtually", which is generally used to mean "I am exaggerating tenfold"

I see he has also donated his fee for the Voice to charity, top bloke. No sign of a certain Mr Jones doing the same. The other two you might excuse, (if you wanted to), due to their young age and relatively less accrued wealth than Mr.I.Am and Mr T.Jones.

That said, I think they should all donate their fees, and maybe even pay a fine considering the appalling programme it was :cursing:

Trouble is they think they were making a good programme.

The viewing figures suggest that is was a success notwithstanding the tail off in numbers towards the end of the series.

He has admitted he is not a very good performer,he just has always had a good publicist,he is on or appears every where at the moment, other wise we wouldn't all know who he is!!
