Winchendon got it's name when it was incorporated in 1764, by Governor Francis Bernard. It was named after Nether Winchendon, Buckinghamshire in England. Governor Bernard who soon after returned to Nether Winchendon and died 15 years later. Todays ride we go up the hill to visit the olde center, where it is pretty bare no a days.

Nice video. The "original" Nether Winchendon (sometimes also labelled on maps as Lower Winchendon) is not too far from where I live, less than 10 miles certainly. Tiny little village though in comparision to the one in Massachusetts, only about 200 people live there as far as I know.

We are only a little more populated at a tad over 4000 people.
