I'm not enjoying it at all from a cyclist point of view, but it's blowing from the west so it's keeping all the rubbish from the shop down the road off my front!:bravo: If it was an east wind i'd be going ape having to constantly pick up his customers rubbish!:cursing:

Wind is like hills, just another obstacle to overcome. I often go out and purposely ride into head winds just to help my fitness and test my resolve. But strong side winds that blow you into the road or ditch is something I don't like.

Wind-assisted cycling - head out with the wind for double your normal distance then get a lift home. Good fun.

I did 52 miles yesterday, the first 5 miles was a tail wind, the next 20 or so was a strong side wind, and the rest of the ride was a full on head wind. At one point I was struggling to pedal downhill between 15 & 17 mph, a hill I can normally fly down at 30+
Legs are feeling it today though!

So long as you plan for it it's a good training aid- did a 24 mile return trip ride last week, the journey out took 42 minutes, the one back took 32 minutes. (unless the Go energy gel I had was really freaking good)
