Does anyone know about things Linux ?
I know nothing about it other than that there are different versions and that once upon a time you had to be quite geeky to make it work. On a scale of 1 to 10, my geek level is about a 3. I've built PC's in the past but have always installed whatever windows was current at the time. I even managed a duel boot win98 / xp setup once.
I quite fancy having a win10 / linux duel boot.
Does anyone know if someone at geek level 3 would be capable of doing this and what flavour linux would be best for me?
I've settled on Linux Mint since it comes with drivers for wifi that some other incarnations don't. If you can install Windows you can install a modern Linux distro. I always install the 'home' folder on a separate partition so that you can install a new version without losing your files. (If you don't understand that don't worry, just install Linux)
