Winter Fitness: Turbo or Rollers?

I want a turbo as very often i would only have time for a quick ride at odd times so i could nip out to the garage and have a blast , trouble is swmbo points out i cycle to work every day so she cant see the point in buying one so i have no chance of getting one.

are any of the cheap turbos worth buying? i mean under £100/?. i dont really want to fork out for a good one having only just started cycling, yet dont want a noisy piece of junk. Might just use the bike at the gym instead
