Wetsuit gloves. Very warm, windproof, available in different thicknesses, very inexpensive.

You'll eventually get wet but unlike wet textile gloves you wont get cold.

Best gloves as far as comfort and looks are concerned are a cheap pair of these ^^^ I found years ago at Aldis. They're still hanging by a thread and I refuse to throw them away. However, mine are only good down to 'cold' and not 'effing cold'. I've seen similar neoprene ones in bike shops but they are £30+ and not as thick as the ones I've got. I must get another pair but I'll probably look to China for a pair and take a punt.
