Love the cold, love the rain, love winter. Just not so keen on the ice. As long as you have the correct clothing no excuses not to keep on cycling.

I was maybe a little mad climbing thru and over the below last winter!

I hate the rain, but now I've got a proper nice waterproof and a lot of organisation I seem to be doing ok. Granted I've only commuted 4 days though! (on my last night shift right now, and I can hear the rain behind me) It was lashing it down this morning for a short time but luckily not *too* long

I think the forecast is rain all next week but I dont think I care  My only worry is when it gets *really* dark... but it's poorly lit going home at 7am. I can certainly dig this cycling to work thing full time though. I draw the line at ice/snow though: )

This is somewhat off topic but you couldn't go wrong to guy one of the £12 CREE copies and see how you get on with it, I'd recomend a beam flattener too as it doubles the usefulness of the light.
If you don't like it or it breaks then you've lost less than £20 while you search for some 'proper' lights.

Putting in a decent Autumn & Winter last year gave me the legs, lungs and mindset to have a good Spring this year. I think I'll go another step up with the mileage this Autumn so should feel even more benefit going into next Spring. Oh next Spring, I'm looking forward to it already! !

Certainly keep going. Happy to cycle through most things, unless I have had a sleepless night, in which case I take my time to wake up properly and take the car (I dont drive tired). As it takes me longer to get ready on one of those days I would not make it on time on my bike. Otherwise, come wind rain and ice I will be out.

I was gutted this year as I missed the summer smiles after being knocked off, so feel like i have only cycled the winter. Hated being sat on the bus/train seeing all the other cyclists flying by. Next year it will be my turn again.
