And there lies a good reason for watching it on the BBC even if Steve Cram was giving a good impression of Carlton yesterday referring to the USA as Canada.

Vonn clipped the gate acording to the Beeb report, which meant her upper body over rotated causing the crash.
Such a sad way to end an incredible career, including a number of comebacks from serious injuries.
They say the trofano is about the toughest of the ladies DH courses.

I missed it as i was at work and only saw the clip on the bbc web page , she was certainly determined and i only hope she hasn’t knackered her knee even more .

Her skis were on so tight that they didn’t fall off. Her legs were not in a natural position and it looked very uncomfortable.

Gutted for Vonn. To my untrained eye it looked like the knee couldn’t cope with the first hard turn she made on it.

Nope. Nothing to do with the knee. She caught a gate with her right shoulder just as she left the ground for a jump, which spun her in the air and she then landed sideways.

Because that is what the law says.

There s no such thing as "BBC licence", it is a TV licence, required for watching ANY live TV, or BBC iPlayer.

Still counts if it is a live broadcast. It is only if it is "on demand" thath you don't need a licence.

She broke her left leg, and has had surgery on it already.

I was watching and took extra interest when Vonn appeared at the start gate.

The accident and screams being helped; make you think this is dream quashing and career ending - at 41 years old.

Champions are born different. Kudos for a narrow minded attitude and dedication to chasing dreams.

She had already said this would be her last olympics.
