I've just been given a pair of Continental Nordic Spike studded winter tyres by my girlfriend for my birthday, the dimensions are 28 x 1.6. Will these fit on a 700c rim? my bikes a cyclocross so have no issues about clearance when fitted but unsure if they will fit my wheels.

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers, Sean.

If it were me; I would purchase an extra set of wheels for your winter tyres to go on. For me, changing a wheel is so much more easier than changing a tyre.

Can help with the dims though. Have you googled your rim to see the compatible tyre dims?

@TheCharityShop This is a Cycling forum. People use forums to ask questions, that is the whole point of forums. There is no such thing as a stupid question. Sean8997 asked a question because he genuinely didn't know the answer.

Many thanks everyone (except from TheCharityShop) seems tyres will fit my rims,
already have a spare set of wheels, one set with my knobbly tyres on and the
others with marathon + on for road riding.

Cheers once again just got to hope for snow this winter to try them out

And be careful the kind of tyre makes little difference to slipping and sliding on the road or pavement , when its wet its just slippy , i came off yesterday. I survived btw.
