The Crud Roadracers are very good and easy to refit every winter once you've set them up. You can adjust bad misfits with a hot air gun or hairdryer and some careful bending. They will keep you and the bike a lot cleaner but do heed the advice to clean off the road salt and run a fluffy cloth behind the brake blocks after cleaning the braking surfaces. Once my current set of Ksyriums wear out I'm going to sell my Roubaix SL4 and buy a winter bike with hydraulic disc brakes.

East Sussex - that's pretty hilly, isn't it? I was just wondering if you could manage on a single speed, cos if so one of those (esp with disc brakes and mudguards) is a doddle to maintain as a winter ride.

where I’m located is very hilly I love my climbs.

Visited the local CFC looking for a bike for my daughter also said to him if you get a good cheap winter hack in let me know.
