Clearly you were promoting the rights of cyclists to use trains, a very worthy cause, you should give yourself a pat on the back. Gently though, mind that rib.
Common sense aided and abetted by the feeling of vulnerability that comes with riding with a cracked rib in conjunction with adverse weather conditions. I would have got the train there and back !
So in conclusion MTFU you have eleven other ribs.............
As someone who 'manned up' on a recent ride, only to slip on some ice, crash and break my collar bone in two places, I can say with some authority - you did the right thing.
+1
Sometimes its hard to listen to that little voice that tells you to take it easy, the "must ride my bike" syndrome kicks in .Took the car last night to work, similar gales blowing everything over, roads strewn with debris, flooded sections and part of the road had been washed away leaving a mahoosive pot hole.
Went out last Sunday on the club run, 2 guys fell off on black ice breaking the rear hangers, another one got ran up the back end by a newbie and 3 others had flats ....... luckily i was on the front most of the time and avoided any mishap.
