Yes, Tony B we are talking about the same torch.
My ride to work is pretty rough so I fully expect the holder to loosen, roll back and then dazzle myself from the handlebars.

I suppose that'll learn me if that *were* to happen.

Ooh. Good man.

That happened to me before I lost the bugger.

dazzling motorists is no more clever than them riding with full beam, it's bad and rude and even dangerous

I agree although I understand the previous poster's frustration. Most of my commute is rural and a minority of motorists decide it's not worth switching off their full beam just for a cyclist. Bloomin' annoying and short of forcing them to stop and have a 'quiet word' it's hard to know what to do about it.

Apart from that, I still much prefer the rural bit of my ride day or night- the stars can be amazing, especially when there's a meteor shower going on. I hate streetlights which are sadly springing up just about everywhere like a rash as more townies move to rural areas.

Within 5 minutes of using the fenix on my first trip here I got flashed by two cars before I adjusted the beam....Couldn't find the bugger in the pouring rain and dark though when I lost it on my second time here.Using a "Police" torch taped to the handlebars and nobody has nicked it yet.(Touchwood)

Condition contrary to fact takes the subjunctive.

And here I add my confusing (or confused) tuppence:
Wish I was so knowledgeable about matters linguistic

Meanwhile I glance at the shades I put on my desk after wearing them on my sunny commute in. Long may the sunshine continue! Boo to darkness!

You lot must get a lie-in every morning, I've been using my lights for a couple of weeks now. Hi-viz this morning too (don't tell BM!).

7.30 depart - just dull at present, but have had lights on. Pretty dark at 6-6.30 though...eeee those were the days, was a long winter when I commuted 20 miles for an 8.00am start.

Well I do various but I don't like the 8 or 9am commutes I prefer the 4 or 5am commutes.
