The Carrera looks tidy & well suited as a winter commuter. I must fettle my hybrid a bit more, sort out the brakes & put the mudguards back on.
Cheers - it went well today
Yes it was heavy so my legs will get a nice workout
Only a few minutes difference compared to the Merckx
A couple of people came in to my office and saw - thought it was a brand new bike!!!! tried to pick it up and left with a muscle pull!!!

I would add a flap to the front mudguard to give your feet and bike better protection, and do the same at the rear for other cyclists riding behind you!
wet this morning - feet not too bad as had my neoprene cosy feet on
might fettle a flap from a pop bottle though just in case
Rear has a rubber flap - destined to get caught in the tyre and then for me to have a massive quick stop

I picked up the same Spesh recently... it has full guards on the back and a chopped off short guard on the front (useless to be honest) Not sure why the front is shortened but I would like to replace it if possible

I've taken off the riser bar and changed the stem to lower, flatten and extend the reach. Heavy bike but great for the winter commute and occasional weekend tracks with the kids.
I like the fact that it has big light wheels - still heavy though...did a big 60 miler in the lakes last year which included the "old coach road" and it coped really well.
