...never mind the start of summertime.

Organised a ride today - but nobody turned up. Can't say I blame them - it was cold with a biting headwind at times and the odd snow flurry on the high ground. On the plus side my sandwiches kept refrigerator cool in the saddle bag. Also my (spooky) Gore face mask kept my face from freezing.

Looking forward to Spring and the regrowth of the hedges and woodland - it would help to conceal some of the rubbish dumped in the countryside. Many of the Grimleys living in my city regard the countryside as nothing more than their own special fly tipping zone - plastic bottles, cans, old tyres, black bin bags, refrigerators - even saw an old 3 piece suite today carefully arranged in a patch of woodland.

On a lighter note - a horse growled at me today. I surprised it while it was grazing, it lifted its head and produced a deep gutteral growl - sounded like a bear. Didn't know they could do that...

I should have been riding with a group today (could have been yours) but the girls pulled out and I didn't want to go with th men. Did my own countryside ride at 9am today and it was freezing, ice at the side of the road in parts. Didn't see any rubbish dumped but I have before.
I agree with the wind I had a sore back/neck last night/this morning and it think it was my ride yesterday with the cold breeze geting into my jacket. I might suffer again tonight.
I pass a large house which has goats in the front lawn, now they are scary little creatures I thought it was going to jump the bushes and come after me. If anything gives you the insentive to pedal faster it's those little blighters.

Yes... roll on the nice weather.

I agree with you about the litter, it's a bloody disgrace the rubbish that I saw today, in one mile I saw four costa coffee cups in the hedgerow, plus all sorts of cans and plastic bottles, and takeaway stuff, it gets me down so it does, why can people take their shite home and throw it away?

And as for the weather, is is something up with which I am finding very difficult to put!

 Better today - sunshine and the NE wind dropped for a while. Daffodils in the garden decided to take a risk and come out. Taking it one day at a time...
