...never mind the start of summertime.
Organised a ride today - but nobody turned up. Can't say I blame them - it was cold with a biting headwind at times and the odd snow flurry on the high ground. On the plus side my sandwiches kept refrigerator cool in the saddle bag. Also my (spooky) Gore face mask kept my face from freezing.
Looking forward to Spring and the regrowth of the hedges and woodland - it would help to conceal some of the rubbish dumped in the countryside. Many of the Grimleys living in my city regard the countryside as nothing more than their own special fly tipping zone - plastic bottles, cans, old tyres, black bin bags, refrigerators - even saw an old 3 piece suite today carefully arranged in a patch of woodland.
On a lighter note - a horse growled at me today. I surprised it while it was grazing, it lifted its head and produced a deep gutteral growl - sounded like a bear. Didn't know they could do that...
