I've just come across this tweet with a series of dreamy pics for a summer day.

The Vondelpark is a public urban park of 47 hectares in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is part of the borough of Amsterdam-Zuid and situated west from the Leidseplein and the Museumplein.

There are few more compelling theatres of humanity than the parade of bikes though Vondelpark on a Sunday afternoon.

Lots of people riding through parks is one of the best things of cycling cities

Why? They're mostly wide tyres (1⅜" / 37mm or wider), run fairly soft to make the cobbles more comfortable but still hard enough not to pinch-flat.

Not around a park, but through it. It's quite a good green corridor between the city centre and a key cycle route out to Westlandgracht and Sloten.

It is a wonderful place, never actually cycled in it though. Was lucky enough to take the kids there last summer, it's a very different place with kids, as is Amsterdam in general. Been there over 10 times and the first time with kids felt like I was seeing a totally different city. More so than anywhere else I have been before and after.

Or just accept that your bicycle is everyday transport that can be ridden in whatever you happen to be wearing.

Not around a park, but through it. It's quite a good green corridor between the city centre and a key cycle route out to Westlandgracht and Sloten.

It is indeed, I remember using it as part of my route up from the Hook to Central Amsterdam when I rode there a couple of years or so back. I'd just come through a much larger park called Amsterdamse Bos, making for an idyllic ride into the centre. I then met up with my wife and a day or so later she hired a bike and we rode around Vondelpark. On a sunny Spring day, it was bliss!
