That's nice Chris - but I can see from here that it is wasted on you...send it to me at...

The Caol Ila I bought for a Frenchman in the South of France, who wanted to drink scotch with a lump of ice in, rather than the conventional 'opening' with a drop of water...I used to have a couple of stubby glasses with a tulip like shape - both elsewhere now. It is also quite nice to try the cask strength stuff that comes in the dumpy bottles.

I've been given 3 bottles for Christmas (a 20 yo Speyside), a Glenfiddich and a Glenmorangie. I'm heavy with a stinking cold so a cheapo with honey and lemon will do till I can taste better.

Whisky and coke is an abominationxx(

The Scots have been making whisky for generations. If they thought it was better with <shudder> coke or some other sugary abomination in it, they'd put it in at the factory.
I've got a bottle of 15 year old French oak finish Glenlivet awaiting my attentions. But, since it's still morning, I'll stick to beer for now.

There are only two things that can be aded to Whisky and that is water and or ice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH, and as Kestevan said More Whisky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No no no no no no no no no no

You're wrong. You don't add ice to whisky as it closes it up. It's like you going outside with one a t-shirt when its freezing. You clam up straight away and whisky does the same. If it's too strong or harsh then put some water in it.

Never ever ever again Mr Oates put ice in your whisky!!! Or I'll call the Whisky police

JD is not whisky so it works well with coke (another American drink). But please do not put any Scottish whisky into coke. If you must abuse an East of Atlantic whisky styled drink, use some Bushmills.

Come on in a youngun and don't even mix whisky with coke! It's nice as it is! Anything added to it just ruins it! I'm sitting here with a pint of erdinger at the moment

I've been doing some damage to a bottle of Jura over the last four days with my dad. I'm no expert and think it's a bit too sweet and easy drinking but did enjoy it.

I've also been given a litre of Bells that I don't like the idea of drinking straight so could do with some ideas of how to use it up please.
