For sale:

A lovely example of the Thorn Audax. I suppose really it's a MK1 but it's not called that, they just called them 531 C at the time.

I've seen a lot of Thorns in my time but never one of these.

I know someone restored one a while back on Retro Bike and he made a superb job of it but this one is in fantastic original condition.

In Gloss Black. The Paintwork is in lovely condition with no dents to the forks or frame.

Nice detailed lugs, so much nicer than the current one (MK4); which looks a bit dull and boring but that's only my opinion.

Seat post and stem move freely. Nothing is damaged, seized, knackered or worn. Having said that, personally, I never trust old tyres and inner tubes !

Has a braze-on pump holder as well.

An absolutely awful looking, expensive but extremely comfortable touring saddle, Gel Flex. It's such a pity they couldn't make one this comfy that actually looks good !

Panaracer tyres.

Two Thorn Profile bottle cages and braze-ons for a third.
In stunning condition and a lovely smooth ride as well. Surprisingly light and quick when it needs to be, even with me on it. :bicycle:^_^

Collection only as I'm not into posting any more, it's just too much hassle !

I can honestly say that this is one of the nicest bikes I've ever offered for sale. If it were just one size smaller I'd keep it.

It's in absolutely lovely original condition.

I would like to polish the frame but tbh, I'd rather show it in its' original condition, It's much better like that.

After a little bit of fettling with the stem and the saddle/seat post, I went for another spin on it today before the heavens opened. I'm 5'8" and it's fine for me, the rather large saddle is deceptive as depending on your style of set up, I'd say 5' 8" to 5' 10" would be fine. Not smaller imho but someone a tad taller would probably be okay once you've change the saddle !

Some more pics as I was requested to take some of the common areas for damage/corrosion. There isn't any but here's the pics anyway:

The only thing that would need addressing is the toe clips that require some attention.
