it's driving without due care and attention i believe

I think it's driving without reasonable consideration for other persons if I can remember. During my working life I worked for: The Chief Constable of a local police force, the Probation Service and the Magistrates Court. At one time I used to know all these regulations and their sections and sub-sections but today - well there are other things to remember in life!


When I'm walking down Oxford Road in Manchester, I always walk well into the pavement as the bus drivers constantly splash pedestrians - and not little splashes either. I once chased one hoping I'd catch him at the next bus stop to give him a piece of my tiny mind but he'd just closed the doors. Grrrrrr!

Well Arch you've waited 18 months to have your laugh, now's your chance. I was cycling today along a narrow country lane and was just crossing a flooded section when a car came hurtling from behind, overtaking leaving only inches clearance. The water careered over the top of the car and left me drenched down one side. I expressed my displeasure with a few 'wavy arm' gestures, nothing rude or discourteous of course - I didn't want to give cyclists a bad name (well more to the point, I didn't want a telling off from my wife who was 100yds behind ).

Ah, a dish served cold and all that....

If it's any consolation, I got soaked yesterday, just working, as my 'waterproof' coat and trousers have finally given up the ghost. I also had to postition the work trike well back at one junction, because of a huge puddle and all the people racing through it. Which made it rather hard to see when it was actually clear to go...
