I have been riding a Specialized Oura saddle for about 15 years. The shape suits me perfectly.
However, my menopausal backside is bonier than it used to be and I am getting sit bone pain over about 30-40 miles.
My question - do saddles get harder over time? I am finding it difficult to find a similarly shaped saddle with slightly more padding. Spesh no longer make the Oura bit the Romin Evo looks similar in shape. However, it has the same level of padding. Do I just need a new but similar saddle or should I be looking for something radically different?

It could be that after 15 years your saddle ‘padding’ is compromised, and no longer effectively cushions those ‘sit-bones’?
I’d be tempted to go with the Roman Evo (assuming your bones hit the appropriate places on the Evo) and see how it feels after 30-40 miles. The worst that can happen is that you have to sell it again.

30-40 miles, must be 2 to 4 hours in the saddle, some saddle discomfort must be expected.

Legs act as "shock absorbers", lifting the weight off the saddle, when riding over the bumps. The longer the ride, the more the legs tire and thus more impact taken on the saddle.

When on a ride, include a few rest stops in the last quarter of the ride, to let the blood circulate and the bum muscles a rest, for a few minutes.
