Wonder where I can complain about road works.

I am currently cycling in to woolwhich from plumstead high street.
The dual carriage way has been coned off meaning all the cars are now pushing into and over the cycle lane.
This morning they had road signs inside the cycle path genius just wondering where I should I complain this is normally a bad road to cycle down anyway but this is making it worse buses pull into the cycle lane and pull out but with cars also doing this its becoming impossible to use. Also is it worth taking pictures of where the signs are being put as no doubt someone somewhere will deny it ever took place.

Depends who manages the road, council or TFL

Can you find another route or ride with the flow of the traffic rather than trying to use the cycle lane. There should be a sign saying the cycle lane is closed if it's unusable I would think

They do act, I've reported faulty lights before

Only if your council acts on reports placed there. Local council has a disclaimer stating that it will only act upon such complaints made on its own site.

I'm pretty sure a council cannot insist on reports being made while holding one knee up above the opposite elbow (or other painful equivalent, such as using a council website) but there hasn't been a test case yet AFAIK. I'd www.WriteToThem.com and ask my nearest councillor if they can stop their council being such a daffodil and start it accepting reports from Fix My Street, which was originally funded by government.

(I suspect some councils want their own sites used so the public can't search and see what was reported to the council when, but instead have to use the tedious freedom of information process and trust the council tells the truth.)

The other option is you report on their system AND Fixmystreet so it's visible to all, and the council can't deny they were also told!

I've done that and handed a written complaint in as well.

I'm aware the local council do check, just that they state they will not act upon a report not filed on it's own system.

I've just done my own double reporting, as I wanted more urgent action on a problem, luckily the man I spoke to agreed.

I'd just ride with the traffic in primary, a wide multi lane road, presumably a 30 limit. There's no imperative to use the cycle lane and it's only a short stretch. I'd not get my knickers in a knot over 100yds of cones. You know it's there, just get back into the carriageway nice and early, not much traffic in your photo

What did the council / TFL respond when you complained?

Oh come on. There's no reason in sight for that obstruction. Is there any reason out of sight for it?

Uncle Tom cyclists telling others to HTFU and not complain about such blatant anti cycling actions is why they keep getting away with it.
