After a long time out from cycling I'm back. I took my old road bike for a service and it looks great with new bar tape however I've noticed the right shifter is at an angle. I don't understand the mechanism under the tape but does this look like it's bent, or seated wrong when the tape was replaced? It's been so long ago since I rode our could have been like this before! I'm planning to just use it as is.

Lift the hood back and you should see a metal band holding the shifter on. There is an Allen key bolt holding it in place. Undo slightly and straighten and then retighten the bolt.

Just check that the bike has not been dropped on the right hand side, this will push the shifters over.

If I had paid for somebody to do it & it wasn't particularly inconvenient to take it back that's what I would be doing, although they possibly could say it was fine when it left them
