I've given up the weekly MTB club night ride all through this miserable wet and muddy summer but tonight I'll be out enjoying the cold dry air, the frozen mud and the sound of tyres crunching over frozen snow. I probably won't even need to clean the bike afterwards.
Tonight's ride: Rising Bridge in Rossendale to Holcombe Hill and back. Anybody in Lancashire who fancies it: meet at Winfields factory store on the A56 Rising Bridge roundabout at 7pm. Lights and helmet obligatory. Flat pedals are a good idea as cleats tend to ice up.
