Sheesh, was it really that much of a crime for someone who routinely risks their life to save others. IIRC the top brass tried to sweep another incident under the carpet when a certain prince used a military jet or helicopter to pick up the shoes he'd forgotten.

I've done it too. We had a tailwind, so it only took 90 seconds...

I wasn't timing our crossing, but it was probably something similar.

Anxious not to be late for 'check in', having walked the circumference of Papay, I arrived at the airfield before the firecrew, ground crew and check in staff. He turned up 15 minutes later in a Landrover that doubled as fire tender.

The fireman/ground crew/check in staff also ran the 'Airport Bus'.... and did the water... and various other things besides.

I looked it up - an engine which was cut up in the 70's. I can't see the relevance.

Post number (at the time) and also... well, I just like the number...... oh and also I have a book with a particularly rude picture of a new E5003 it in all its Golden Arrow Regalia.

I don't know why, I just liked it. End of.
