Working/cycling in London

The reason I was asking was that with the field of work that I am going in (Civil Engineer), I will most likely end up in either Manchester or London because there is no work near me.

Well those two were only examples. But anywhere where I can find work. (Which might be sooner than planned as an Architectural company is hiring locally).

For the casually dressed cyclist who does not wear a helmet and rides flats with toe clips it's a farking nightmare, where death lurks on the road with every rev of the chainset.

For everyone else it's great, a kinda of 'we all understand each other so let's all get to where we want to go'. There is also some geat sights in London and the only way to really get around is on a bike.

Is it daunting the size and scale of working in the capital of the country?

The actual working side will probably be the same if you are sat in an office, but when commuting, is the amount of people scary?

Nobody can answer that question for you, they can only answer for themselves!

But you asked and you've already had plenty of no answers, so here is my resounding yes!

I find that the older I get, the more I dislike large towns, let alone huge cities. Providing that someone is willing to ship the stuff I need to where I live, and my friends and family were willing to visit me here or meet me somewhere else that was quiet, I'd be perfectly happy to never again visit another place with a population of more than about 20,000 people, and I prefer about 6-8,000! (Except for passing through by plane or train en route to some other quiet place.)
