On the nightshift now it the last one of my 4 ^_^ 4 days off then 4 days on and so on and so on but doing that I only work 6 mths a year loads of time to cycle when its quiet on the backlanes of Lakeland.
As for nights I prefer days but wouldnt swap them for a 5 day wèek with just weekend off no way!

I like the sound of those hours I could easily have done 4 on 4 off but to get a decent weekend off I used to have to "swap" on to a Sunday night start with a Friday morning finish. Best shifts I ever did (but the worst job with the best money) was seven days on two days off on each shift, you never got a whole weekend off.

Worked nights/days for 11 years now, 12 hours shifts, one week of nights followed by one week of days and so on so on

Don't get any more money for working nights and it's really starting to grind on me now, it's like having permanent jet lag all the time especially every weekend trying to adjust my body clock

Didn't bother me so much a few years back but I must be getting old )

go to work on wednesday (at sea) and get off the following wednesday one week of 12 hour day shifts and then the next week 12 hour night shifts. On the plus side I can pay for a 5 day golf membership and play all 5 days where as the 9 to 5 lot have to pay for a seven day membership to only play at the weekends.

ps I'm tired.

A mate of mine used to do this but then him and a colleague arranged to swap weeks so he did 8 nights on 8 off. Lucky begger used to go on holiday almost every week and when he took 2 weeks annual leave he was off for 24 days non stop:giggle:
