I saw reports of Matthews joining in, the same Bling who did nothing to close any gaps whatsoever.
Yeah he's got nothing to complain about. Good ride though

Yup. There's some guy on a forum saw much the same thing https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/world-championships-montreal-2026-spoilers.312452/post-7705239
Seems crazy if he does
I wonder if Sexias, Remco or MVP had won would we be still discuss the tactics of the race several days later.
Are the riders mentioning Del Toro's allegiances in the race actually "having a pop", or just noting the facts of their tactical conundrums?
I mean it's fairly well accepted that if you're in the world's and your nation isn't going to get a result and you aren't going to get a result you might help out a teammate, isn't it? Nobody's actually surprised by it, and I assume nobody's actually outraged by it either
"Who said that? Internet forum people?"--Mark Cavendish
You can be p*ssed off but still get it. The former particularly after a race that you see could well have gone differently. In a couple of days, when all's cooled down, it's "just racing".

Reading the Pidcock ‘having a pop’ interview it definitely came across as the latter to me.
Fair, though I think Pidcock could probably tell you he knew a superb cafe with the best cake in the world, great service, friendly owner, comfortable seats, cycle parking and all very cheap and still sound like he was having a pop at it
Yorkshireman though isn’t he? Never happy even when he’s happy.
