The newer Yellow Pages. It's been heavily edited in the latest reissue. A lot of the content has been cut making it pointless. The original version was a much better read and full of great stuff with a lot of things starting with 'A'.

Mrs D's Brother insisted on lending it her so I took a quick peek. Honestly, it couldn't have been less interesting of John Major had written it and Nigel Mansell had written the foreword. If they'd left the pages blank for the reader to doodle upon it would have provided more entertainment.
I managed barely two chapters before trying to book myself a first class flight to Dignitas, but I fell into a coma of deep disinterest before I could make the payment.
Leaving aside a subject that provides little in the way of either entertainment or intellectual fulfillment, it was simply a terribly written dirge of a book. I actually feel sorry for the subject if he paid the author to write it - he was ripped off if he did.

I have managed to avoid reading biographies by politicians - I intend to continue that for the next 30 years which should do me out!!

I deliberately avoided direct comment about the chap for obvious reasons.
It's just the writing style is so... well, crap. With a grey subject matter you'd have expected a bit of an attempt to liven up the style to compensate.

Yes, there has been plenty books I have started and thought this is crap and abandoned ship so to speak. So they must be the very worst!
Not sure if this fits into "Worst Book" or not; Recently read 'Wideacre' by Philipa Gregory, 600+ pages in 2 weeks (which is fast for me) this would suggest it was a very good book, but the main character turned into the most vile person, I hated her, and although I couldn't put the book down I did not enjoy it,. Something very captivating about philpa gregory's writing for me, one of the best books I have read in recent years was 'Tidelands' fell in love with the main character in that one.
My current book, a 'Dalhousie' novel - this mustn't be very good, think I have been on with it 4 weeks and only up to page 110

I’ve been poking about new cars lately… since my last purchase all those nice brochures have disappeared as well.

I enjoyed Dennis Healey's memoirs (serious but interesting), and likewise Roy Hattersley's (great fun and not too serious). Attlee's are a good read too. And to give a little balance I really enjoyed Matthew Paris's memoirs and rather warmed to him despite previously disliking him and his politics.
Am tempted to read Rory Stewart's too
