If I was going to spend £2k on a bike, I would want it to look at least halfway decent. That is a pretty ugly bike to my eyes.

Getting your priorities right is important. I have a £400 car and now have a £2000 bike.

Agreed. But I guess they would serve a purpose to someone looking to shed weight. Personally, at 100kgs, there are far cheaper ways for someone like me to shed weight on the bike lol

Let's not get into the whole losing wheel weight vs losing body weight thing. There is no comparison to make, as they achieve different things.

And that'where it should ... rather £700 wheels and 105 groupset than Dura Ace and Aksiums as seems to be the case these days, expensive gruppo and lowly wheels. Well here's the deal, a more expensive groupset wont make you any faster, but good wheels will. Good on Mekk for realising this at last ....

Or you can buy a cheaper(better priced) bike with a better or equivalent groupset and pay the extra for a decent set of wheels and have the standard set to use through the winter.

Personally i don't see where the amount of difference in price from 105 to Dura Ace etc is justified, ok a little lighter and smoother etc, but look at the difference in rrp of these group sets?

Ok i admit i wouldn't mind a ultegra Di2 group set as i see where the extra dosh is going in the electrics, Mind you if money was no object?
